Asian Business Association, Black Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Form Strategic Alliance
SAN DIEGO, CA - On October 10, 2019, San Diego County’s three largest ethnic chambers of commerce formally agreed upon a partnership memorandum of understanding (MOU), forming a Strategic Alliance. Together, all three organizations represent the interests of tens-of-thousands of local businesses.
“For too long, many of our minority business owners, associations, and leaders have fought for the same limited resources -- for that seat at the table. We’re thankful for the San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Central San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce leadership for their willingness, vision, and support in helping bring all of us together to ensure we have an inclusive economy that works for all of us.” - Jason Paguio, President and CEO, Asian Business Association San Diego
“We’re excited to work with the Alliance and bring forward the perspective of the businesses we represent throughout the County. Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy and when we work together to support each other, we improve the quality of life for all San Diegans,” - Iris Garcia, Chairwoman, San Diego County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
“Our voices are stronger together, whether it’s advocating for access to capital, technical training for our small businesses, or supporting those who took to the risk opening a business and employing local residents. Our Alliance represents the hard work of our business leaders’ long term vision of helping create a qualified and diverse workforce.” - Donna DeBerry, President, Central San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce
Among the MOU’s priorities are community-based outreach, sharing business resources, events, educational workshops, and business advocacy. The three organizations have begun sharing information regarding public policy priorities, technical assistance resources for their small business members, as well as participating in networking events
